Mr. Ages believes that now more than ever, families need entertainment that roots us in the human experience, a moral universe where right encounters wrong and doesn’t always win; a connection to nature; themes of love, friendship, heroism, and humor, as well as loss, loneliness, grief, fear, and mortality; a capacity for irony, metaphor, and nuance. Because we are human, and we must not relinquish our capacity to hold so much wonder.
The title of his debut album, Quality Music Intended for Children, states his mission plainly. It is made with an uncompromising commitment to quality: real musicians, wide collaboration, and bold arrangements, from folk and country to jazz and blues—the whole thing, alive and beautifully made by human hands. Because our children deserve the best of us, not content churn.
